The 2003 Six Nations Championship was played between February and March. The annual tournament was won by England, who completed a tournament grand slam (winning all their matches).
In the final round England had beaten all of their opponents and Ireland were still in the hunt. England had to travel to Ireland to play at Lansdowne road and many had expected England to fail again but in the last quarter England hit their stride and blew the Irish away with England running out winners 6-42.
The English later went on to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
